Through CAUGHT IN THE WEB, NO STATUES explore vocalist and guitarist Ali Mustafa’s personal experience of being Pakistani-Australian—post 9/11, post Sonia Kruger. NO STATUES look inward to make sense of how the world misunderstands us and the stories that people create.
NO STATUES consider the modern condition—identity, profiling, marginalisation & nostalgia…will we ever come unstuck?

Caught in the Web was written and played live on Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung land from 2020-2022. It follows NO STATUES’ 2020 cassette release, CS. CAUGHT IN THE WEB features four new punk/darkwave songs with an additional programmed synth rhythm track complementing the minor melodies and lyrical malaise.
